What Makes A Winning Greyhound?

Greyhound racing is one of the most popular gambling games in the UK. So everybody is on the lookout for an excellent greyhound who is 100% fit. A winning greyhound needs to reach a speed of 70kmph within the first 30 meters and it should be traveling at almost 20 meters per second in the first 250 meters of the race. It should possess great horsepower, the speed of a racing car and excellent cornering dynamics; it should also have manoeuvrability like that of a fighter plane.

It should be able to perform on fast track, normal track, slow track and wet track condition with the same winning ability. The greyhound whose nose first reaches the finishing line is declared as the winner. They normally start racing from about 15 months of age but they are considered to be at their best when they are between 2 to 4 years old.

A winning greyhound has to be exercised regularly according to the guidelines set by the racing authority. A lot of care is taken regarding the diet of the animal and they are regularly checked for malnourishment, parasites or any kind of medical condition by a veterinary doctor. A lot of care, concern, grooming and training is required for you to convert your greyhound into a winning one.
